The Richmond Defender is a
bimonthly community newspaper serving the working people of Virginia. Founded in February 2005, we now publish 17,000 copies,
available at more than 280 distribution sites across the state.
Starting in April 2009, the newspaper will be published quarterly under the name The
Virginia Defender, reflecting its expanding statewide news coverage and distribution.
